POLLUTION CONTROL COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES

PRESENT : Richard Dalidowitz, Frances Brautigam, John Star.~ton
The meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m. by the Chairm~n, Richard
Dalidowitz.
The minutes of the April 13, 1982, meeting were accepted a:~ written.
OLD BUSINESS:
Richard Dalidowitz reported on the public meeting on the tc~pic of
hazardous waste which was held at Trinity College on April 19, 1982.
One of the topics was the new Connecticut siting law, which apparently
allows the State to place a hazardous waste disposal site in a town,
regardless of local ordinances which might prohibit such a facility.
John Stanton agreed to get a copy of the law so that the Commission
could review it.
John Stanton presented a letter from the State of Connectic;ut Department
of Environmental Protection, stating that no environmental impact state-
ment was done with regard to the Willow Brook Park project in New
Britain. Richard Dalidowitz agreed to contact Morgan SeelE~y to get his
opinion as to whether the project will have any effect on t:he Town of
Berlin.
NEW BUSINESS:

W. L. Hanford of New Britain has available a film on acid r_ain, which is
being shown to a New Britain church group on June 13, 1982,. The film is
available for another showing on June 12, 1982. Richard D~lidowitz
agreed to contact Mr. Hanford to determine the possibility of attendinq
the church group showing or to arrange a showing on June 12. so that
Commission members and others could attend.
The new member of the Commission, Mrs. Frances Brautigam, was breifed on
the history and purpose of the Commission and past and present issues
which have been and are being dealt with by the Commission.,
The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
