January 30, 1985 Meeting
Members Present: Frances Brautigam, Richard Dalidowitz, Richard Narus.
The meeting was called to order in Room 6 at Town Hall a~ 7:30 PM.
There were no minutes for the November 28, 1984 meeting which was an
informal session without a quorum.
Richard Narus was welcomed as the newest member of t1-~e Commission.
His background as an industrial hygienist will be a v~aluable asset
to the Commission.
Industrial Questionnaire
Implementation of this questionnaire was discussed. The following
concerns emerged:
When will this questionnaire be sent to a business which plans to
locate in Berlin?
How will the questionnaire be transmitted - personally by a member
of the Commission who will explain its purpose or impersonally as
part of the building permit or via the economic development process?
Frances Brautigam will obtain input from the Mayor on these questions
and find out what procedures are followed when an industrial or
commercial business moves into Town.
Groundwater Protection and Underground Storage Tanks
The necessity for protecting groundwater was discussed. Copies of
groundwater protection ordinances from neighboring t~~wns will be
studied by the Commission over the next few months. Incorporated
into this study will be a review of the recentl~;~ issued EPA
regulations affecting underground storage tanks.
Mattabassett Landfill
Nothing new to report.
Having no further business the meeting was adjourned at 8:45 PM. The
next regular meeting of the Commission will be held on the last
Wednesday of the month, February 27th, in Room 6 at Town Hall at
7:30 PM,
