MEMBERS PRESENT: Frances Brautigam, L. A. Chotkowski, Richard
- Dalidowitz, Elaine Ferraguto (Alt:ernate) and

~"
The meeting was called to order at 7:40 P.M. in Room 6 at Town Hall.
The minutes of the January 30th meeting were accepted as read.
OLD BUSINESS:
INDUSTRIAL QUESTIONNAIRE:
Frances Brautigam discussed with Jeffery Cugno, Economic~ Development
Director, various ways of implementing the Industrial Questionnaire.
Mr. Cugno suggested that he notify the Commission when a business
expressed serious intentions of locating in Berlin. The questionnaire
would then be transmitted personally by a member of the Commission
to a representative of the business. Considerable discussion followed
and the point was again raised about formally incorporating this
questionnaire into some stage of the planning/zoning or building
permit process. A final decision on this ma~ter was tab:led. However,
it was suggested that Mr. Cugno be invited to the next meeting so
that the Commission could discuss this topic with him in ~more detail.
GROUNDWATER PROTECTION:
The initial approach will be to develop a broad base of information
on which to predicate a plan of action. This will invnlve defining
groundwater sources within the boundaries of the town, estimating
Berlin's present and projected water requirements and abtaining and
reviewing ordinances and zoning regulations of other communities.
Much of the above information has already been developed and it must
be consolidated and "boiled down".
UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS:
Richard Narus will continue to review regulations on this subject to
determine how these requirements can be dovetailed into a ground-
water protection strategy.
