{INUTES Meeting was called to order at 9:12 P.M. by Chairman Ward.
Motion was made by Mr. McKeon, seconded by Mr. D. Ward and VOTED to approv
he minutes of February 1, 1973 meeting.
~EW BUSINESS
The remainder of the meeting was devoted to hearing the 1973-74 budget
~equest of the Board of Education.
It was VOTED to adjourn the meeting at 11:17 P.M.

Meeting was called to order at 8:15 P.M. by Chairman Ward.
ZINUTES
Motion was made by Mrs. Delaney, seconded by Dr. McIntosh and VOTED to
approve the minutes of January 23, 1973 meeting.
~EW BUSINESS
The meeting was devoted to discussing the proposed Parks .& Public Grounds
budget for 1973-74. Chairman Ward requested Dr. Kiniry to submit an estimate of
the cost to staff and maintain the proposed pool in East Berlin.
It was VOTED to adjourn the meeting at 10:25 P.M.

Copy of a letter from Harry N. Jackaway, Town Counsel to Atty. John F. Downes
dated January 25, 1973, concerning the dissolution of the Worthington Fire District.
I Copy of a letter from A~thur B. Powers, First Selactman to Anthony Gandolfo,
:Chairman-Public Building Conunission, dated January 24, 1973, advising that the
!statement of need for the Town Hall Complex be modified to include an additional
12700 sq. feet to be used for the storage space by tSe Board of Education as the
storage area can be constructed at a much lower rate per square foot than the
remainder of the building.
Letter from Eugene J. Devlin, Librarian-Peck Memorial Library, dated January 14,
1973, concerning his request, in the salary account of his budget, (see minutes of
January 11, 19731 to increase it by 1½%. He advises he negleeted to include a
request that a review be given to item #2222 Librarian's Salary, a full-time positl on.
The Board agreed to discuss the matter with Mr. Devlin during a review ol
his 1973-74 budget request on February 22, 1973.
Letter from Thomas Shannon, Assistant Town Engineer~, dated January 30, 1973,
requesting the additional capital expenditure in the 1973-74 budget of a plan hold
combination cabinet with hangers to protect and preserve the original town-wide
aerial maps.
As Joseph Scheyd, Chief Assessor, also requested a cabinet for filing
maps, Mr. Bentley will look into this matter and advise the Board if the
cabinets are for the similar purpose.
Letter from Morgan Seelye, Director-Water and Sewer Commission, dated January
30, 1973, requesting an appropriation, not to exceed $25,000 be made, and authorization
for borrowing be obtained for the construction of an 8 inch saniiary sewer main in
Kensington Road, Berlin, from the Rolling Meadows sewage pumping station to near
Robbins Road, a total of 1040 1.f., with 180 1.f. of laterals. He further advises
a portion of the cost of construction will be recovered from the Kensington Fire
District and by assessments.
The Board agreed to table the matter pending receipt of additional
information.
TRANSFERS
Letter from Harold F. Bomba, Town Clerk, dated January 26, 1973, requesting
an appropriation of $1,375 for additional clerical assistance.
Following discussion,
Motion was made by Mrs. Delaney, seconded by Mr. T. Ward and VOTED to
transfer $1,375.00 from ~210 Contingency to account #1103 Part-time Help
OPPOSED: Dr. McIntosh
ABSTAINED: Mr. D. Ward
MOTION CARRIED
Letter from Alfred J. Curnow, deputy Director-Public Works Department, dated
January 29, 1973, requesting additional funds to account ~615 Traffic Signs, Signal.s
and Markers.
Motion was made by Mr. D. Ward, seconded by Mrs. Delaney and VOTED to
transfer $500.00 from ~210 Contingency to account #615 Traffic Signs,
Signals & Markers.
NEW BUSINESS
The remainder of the meeting was devoted to reviewing the proposed 1973-74
budgets of the Health Officer and the Public Health Nursing Service.
It was VOTED to adjourn the meeting at 10:55 P.M.
