Old Farms Place haul route be inspected by Applicant and Town Engineering Office, before and after the excavtion and defects occurring during the haulage of gravel over the road be repaired by the Applicant to equal or better condition than now exists. 10. Dust, erosion and siltation controls be provided by the Applicant to the Town Engineer's satisfaction. 11. Hours of~ operation be limited to between ?:00 A.M. and 5 P.M. weekdays. 12. Suranna, R. Baumann, D. Harris, and Alternate Commissioners M. Meigs, B. Edelson (left the meeting at 8 p.m.) and C. Gameros. Absent Has Commissioner Corrigan. Also in attendance Here Town Planner W. Voelker and Zoning Inspector R. Gaudio. Chairman Ferraguto stated both he and Alternate Commissioner Gameros had been reappointed by the Executive Board for five year terms as Gha~-ma~ and Alternate Commissioner, respectively.~l~io~~ The election of officers was then held. FOR CHAIRMAN: Commissioner Baumann motioned to appoint Chairman Ferraguto as Chairman of the Commission~ the motion was seconded by Commissioner Harris and carried unanaimously. No other nominations for Chairman were given. FOR VICE-CHAIRMAN: Commissioner Suranna motioned to appoint Commissioner Harris as Vice-Chairman of the Zoning Commission; the motion was seconded by Commissioner Baumann and carried unaimously. 'No other nominations for Vice-Chairman were given. SECRETARY: Commissioner Baumann motioned to appoint Commissioner Suranna as Secretary of the Zoning Commission; the motion Has seconded by Alternate Commissioner Gameros and carried unanimously. No other nominations for Secretary were given. Voting commissioners for the above actions were Suranna~ Harris, Baumann, Edelson, Meigs, Gameros, and Ferraguto. Minutes of the January ~5~ '1~8~ meeting were reviewed and a motion to ~ccept them as amended was made by Commissioner Suranna and seconded by Commissioner Gameros. The motion carried unanimously. Chairman Ferraguto reviewed correspondence which included: Two letters from Mayor Peters, one which expressed support for the commissioners and had been published in the New Britain Herald and a request urging commissioners to abide by the legal opinions expressed by Corporation Counsel for the Town of A memo from Mayor Peters dated January ~G, 1~8~ reque~t!~g Commission review regulations rela~ing to garage constrU~tio~ in residential zones. Wisnio~ski, President, requesting an amendment to Berlin Zoning 8egulations which would allow a heliport. Planner Voelker stated.the letter did not constitute a formal, application and said he would inform the applicant. To~n Planner Voeiker presented the following ne,'applications: An application from Earl Wicklund to excavate 8?,000 cubic yards, 8.1 acres at Lot ~, Block 1~ Burgundy Lane. A request for amendment of the special permit of Bronson and Hutensk¥ for a 15,000 square foot addition to the Brickyard Shopping Center on Deming Road, Block lel, Lot ~1. As this change is greater than 5,000 square feet and the one change permitted by statutes was granted for this special permit by the Zoning Commission at its January 11, 198~ meeting, a public hearing will be required. A request for an excavation permit by Russo Bros. Inc. at Lot ~?A, Block 132 located on Ledge Drive Extension to excavate 5,000 cubic yards, 2.~ acres. A fill permit request of Gilbert E. Berube to fill 1,000± cubic yards, 1-1/~ acres at Lot 3, Block 83 on Deming Road. The public hearing date of March ~2, 198~ ,as set for all four applications. Zoning Inspector Gaudio reviewed current ZBA cases to be heard on February ~8, 1~8~. The Fill Permit of Family Realty, Inc. was then reviewed. After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Baumann to grant the fill permit request of Manafort Bros. Realty Association to fill q,O00~ cubic yards, 11± acres, at Lot Block ?&As qO0 feet north of the intersection of Deming Road with Christian Lane inclusive of all stipulations as received by the Planning Commission (copy attached) for a period of one year. In addition the commission requests that all applications for future e~tension be submitted two months pri~r to the expiration date. Also~ the commission requests that a topographical map of the pond be supplied in order to calculate the fill necessary for completion of this operation. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Harris and carried unanimously. Voting commissioners were: P. Ferraguto, D. Harris, M. Meigs, R. Baumann~ P. Corrigan, J. Suranna.
