1972/02/29 MINUTES BOARDOF FINAI~CE Regular Meeting February 29, 1972 Members Present: Thomas W. Ward, Jr., Blanche J. Delaney, William McKeon (8:45 Jack J. Barbera, Donald L. Ward Members Absent: Dr. John McIntosh Others Present: Leslie C. Bentley, Finance.Director Mrs. Blanche Mahan, Hartford Courant. Reporter Meeting was called to order at 8:15 P.M. by Chairman Ward. MINUTES Motion was made by Mrs. Delaney, seconded by Mr. Barbera and VOTED to approve the minutes of February 24, 1972 meeting. TRANSFERS Letter from Lawrence E. Graham, .Green~ Superintendent, Timberlin Golf Course, dated February 29, 1972, requesting $2,000 be trmn~ferred to account #1981 Utilities to enable them to .pay bills for the remainder of this fiscal ~ea~. Motion was made by Mrs. Delaney, secol~d~d by M re D. Ward and VOTED to transfer $2,000 from ~210 Contingency to account 91981 Utilities. Letter from Morgan Seelye, Director Public ,Works Department, date~d February 25, 1972, requesting a transfer of funds to. account ~615 Traffic Signs, Signals and Markers to cover a bill received from Penn Central for maintenance of the railroad spur crossing signals at Christian Lane for the period February 7, 1971 to February 7, 1972. This contract was overlooked in the requested appropriation for this fiscal year. Motion was made by Mrs. Delaney, seaonded by Mr. Barbera and VOTED to transfer $400.00 from ~210 Contingency to account ~615 Traffic Signs, Signals and Markers. OLD BUSINESS The remainder of the meeting was devoted to discussing the interlocal agreement for waste disposal to be voted at a Town Meeting on March 1, 1972. Motion was made by Mrs. Delaney, seconded by Mr. Barbera and VOTED to approve the minutes of February 29, 1972 meeting. NEW'BUSINESS The remainder of the meeting was devoted.to heaning the proposed 1972-$3 budget for the Board of Education. Following review of the budget, Mr. English read a prepared statement declaring he voted against the budget and noting specific items he felt unnecessary. Mr. Place advised the Board of a recent problem at Hubbard School necessita- ting extensive repairs to the roof. Mr. Freeman Stated tke building is moving
