A regular meeting of the Berlin Zoning Commission was held on
Wednesday January 26 1972
The meeting was called to order at 7 30 P M by Chairman Probst
Commissioners Disktn Cormier McCarthy and Ross were present
Also present were Emil Carlson Zoning Inspector and alternate
Joseph Pegolo
Item I Minutes of the February 9th 1972 meeting accepted as read
Item II Chairman Probst reported that Phillip Dot n Chairman of the
Charter Revision Commission has invited members of the Zoning Commission to
meet 3ointly with them on February 17 1972 8 O0 P M Town Hall
Item III ~onzn~ £~ pe~ ~ ~ported that he has written Leroy Broccoli owner
of the Berlin Electric Co doing business at 11 Pleasant Ave Kensington
informing that they are in vlolatmon of the Berlin Zoning Ordinances Section
4 11 regarding the open storage of material in a retail business zone
allowing fifteen (15) days for the removal of same
Letter placed on file
Item IV Acknowledgement from CRPA relative to the zone change scheduled for
March 8 1972 for the Dalco Inc petition was placed on file
NOTE
Commissioner D~skin who was not present at the public hearing held
January 12 1972 excused himself and left the meeting Alternate
Pegolo sat for Commissioner Diskin at the hearing
Item V Commissioner McCarthy moved Coranissioner Cormier seconded approving
the petition of Michael P Budney for a zone change from Residence R 43 to
Planned Industry on Lot 9B Block #127 located on the west side of Wethersfield
Road 350 distant north from the intersection of Beckley Road with Wethersfield
Road and heard at a public hearing held on January 12 1972 8 O0 P M McGee
School Norton Road Berlin Corm
Commissioners McCarthy Cormier Pegolo and Ross voted in favor
Chairman Probst abstained
Motion carried
REA O This change is an exter~sion of a Planned Industrial zone This
ex~sting residential parcel ~s somewhat of an island in an existing and
developing Planned Industrial area Further as indicated on the Zoning Map
extends from Commerce St East Berlin westerly to the west side of the
Wilbur Cross Highway
In the Commissions opinion this change represents the best usage
of the parcel and most benefit to the Town of Berlin
Effective date of change February 21 1972
