A regular meeting of the Berlin Zoning Commission was held on
Wednesday September 22 1971
The meeting was called to order at ? 30 P M by Chairman Probst
Commissioners Garlick Cormier and McCarthy were present Also present
were Emil Carlson Zoning Inspector and Alternates Stiano and Pe~olo
Alternate Pegolo was appointed to sit for Commissioner Diskin
Item I Minutes of the September 8th meeting accepted as read
Item II Chairman Probst reviewed with the Commission legislative changes
affecting zoning and effective October 1 1971
Alternates will be appointed by the Chairman on alternating basis
Town Planning Commission Co be notified 35 days in advance of a
hearing date
Regional Planning Agencies to be notified 35 days in advance of
hearing date
Item III Chairman Probst reported that he has spoken with Fred Downes of
the Berlin Industrial Commission concerning their petition to amend
Section 8 01 03 of the Zoning Regulations Industrial Uses to permit freight
terminals and warehousin8 in Planned Industrial Zones
Item IV Chairman Probst read a con~unication from the Board of Finance
dated September 18th requesting the annual report of the Zoning Commission
to be submitted by October 30 1971
Item V Secretary submitted a quote for a legal size two shelf horizontal
file $112 00 and $50 00 for clerical assistance to update this Commission
zone change file located at the To~n Hall Chairman Probst to review
this matter with the First Selectman and report back at the next regular
meeting
Item VI Chairman Probst read a letter from the First Selectman request
lng the Zoning Commission to submit by October 15th a statemant=of need
for the new to~n hall
Item VIII E Carlson reports that he is having difficulty with gas station
owners in town objecting to his program of having the station owners clean
their business areas by removing signs soda dispencers etc
Commissioner McCarthy to review this with the Board of Selectmen
at their meeting September 2?th and report back
