WORKSHOP - BUDGET COMMITTEE DEPT. #9 - ASSESSORS OFFICE Councilman Bertagna made a motion to restructure the Assessor's Office budget as follows: Acct. #103 - Mid. Mgmt. - increase from $55,507. to $74,156. Acct. #104 - Clerical - reduce from $79,588. to $62,009. Acct. #133- Wrks. Comp. - reduce from $484. to $458. Acct. #151 - Ins. - Life - increase from $1,284. to $1,563. Acct. #153 - Soc. Sec. - increase from $10,481. to $10,582. Acct. #154 - Pension - increase from $13,064. to $13,373. Acct. #156 - Health Ins. - increase from $21,791. to $28,616. Acct. #253 - Prof. Serv. - reduce from $10,000. to $0. The total reduction to this budget is as follows: $197,999. to $196,557. A savings of $1,442. Seconded by Councilman Bajorski. Those voting in favor were: Councilman Argazzi, Councilman Bajorski, Councilman Bertagna, Councilman Jortner, Councilman Ragazzi. Opposed: Councilman Mclntosh. Vote being 5-1. (MOTION CARRIED) DEPT. #32 - POLICE DEPT. Gary Clinton noted the following correction: Acct. #122 - Longevity - reduce this account from $22,931. to $22,231. REVENUE Councilman Argazzi made a motion to increase Back Taxes from $845,197 to $870,147. (An increase of $25,000.) Seconded by Councilman McIntosh. PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. 6-0 OTHER SERVICES & EARNINGS ON INVESTMENTS Councilman Bajorski made a motion to increase interest on Investments from $1,145,000. to $1,170,000. (An increase of $25,000.) Seconded by Councilman Argazzi. Those voting in favor were: Opposed: Councilman Argazzi, Councilman Bajorski, Councilman Bertagna, Councilman Mclntosh Councilman Jortner, Councilman Ragazzi. Vote being 4-2. (MOTION CARRIED) DEPT. #43 - GOLF COURSE Acct. #103 - Mid Management - Councilman Bertagna made a motion to increase this account from $48,939. to $68,939. (An increase of $20,000.) Seconded by Councilman Mclntosh. PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. 6-0. DEPT. #59 - ST. PAUL'S SCHOOl, Acct. #287-8 - St. Paul - Councilman Jortner made a motion to increase this account from $35,000. to $45,000. (An increase of $10,000.) Seconded by Councilman Ragazzi. Those voting in favor were: Councilman Jortner, Councilman Ragazzi. 2 Opposed: Abstained: Councilman Argazzi, Councilman Bajorski, Councilman Bertagna Councilman Mclntosh Vote being 2-3-1. (MOTION DEFEATED) FUND BALANCE Councilman Bertagna made a motion to add an additional $417,000. from Fund Balance making the total Fund Balance $897,000. Seconded by Councilman Bajorski. PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. 6-0. GENERAL FUND - MII.L RATE Councilman Bajorski made a motion to bring the recommendation of a 29.2 mill rate to the Town Council. Seconded by Councilman Argazzi. Those voting in favor were: Opposed: Councilman Argazzi, Councilman Bajorski, Councilman Bertagna, Councilman Mclntosh Councilman Jortner, Councilman Ragazzi Vote being 4-2. (MOTION CARRIED) WATER CONTROL -MILL RATE Councilman Bajorski made a motion that the Budget Committee send to the Town Council the Water Control Commission Budget that has a zero mill rate. Seconded by Councilman Argazzi. PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. 6-0 3.) APPROVAL OF MINUTES - FEB. 19TIt Councilman Bajorski noted the following corrections: Page 1, under Dept. #37 Highway Dept. - change "Acct. #208- Prof. Dev. -Councilman Argazzi made a motion to reduce this account from $250. to $100." to "Acct. #205 - Maintenance Councilman Argazzi made a motion to reduce this account from $250. to $100." Page 8, change "Acct. #429-19 - Sage I" to "Acct. #429-14 - Sage I". Page 12, 1 st paragraph, change "Personnel" to "Police" Page 12, change "Those invited into Executive Session were: Town Manager Therden and members from the Economic Development Committee" to "Those invited into Executive Session were: Town Manager Therfien". Page 12, under Dept. #32 - Police Dept. - 1st paragraph, 2nd line, change "by not filling the vacancy created by upgrading a Sergeant's position to a ..... " to "by upgrading a Sergeant's position to the ..... " Councilman Argazzi made a motion to accept the minutes of February 19th as amended. Seconded by Councilman Bajorski.
