The meeting was called to order by Chairman M. Wnuk at 7:10 PM.
MINUTES
The Minutes of the November 18, 2003 meeting were unanimously accepted as printed.
VOICE OF THE PUBLIC - None
BUDGET
The Fire Department budgets are ready to meet with the Town Council for their review.
RADIO
Mike Rogan will continue overseeing the radio system for the Fire Departments.
The Knox Box Key System is being programmed.
South Kensington radio in the new Fire Engine needs to be programmed.
TRAINING
The Incident Officers training that was held last weekend went over very good. The officers
were pleased with the information that was presented to them.
Cold Water Rescue Class was discussed. No date was set. Possibly February or March.
HAZ-MAT
Chief Lewandowski will get 4 C.D. Roms: 1 for each department.
Discussed setting up a refresher course.
PHYSICALS
Chief Folcik reported that a complete list of names of firemen who will be taking their physicals
was sent ot the Asssistant Town Manager, Herman Middlebrook for his records. Some firemen have
started to take their physicals.

Chief Simons will set up a list of firemen that need training.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Chief Lewandowski will meet at each department to help train them in the proper procedure for
this program.
TOWN FIRE SAFETY COMMITTEE
This Committee meets onTuesdays. Chief Simons will sit on this Committee to represent the
Fire Service.
NEW BUSINESS
Finance Director
On January 29, 2004 at 5:30 PM, the Chiefs will meet with the Finance Director to review
the Incentive Plan. There is a problem with the Plan that the Town Council had approved.
Chief Lewandowski will research Hepatitis shots for firemen.
FIRE DEPARTMENT SAFETY COMMITTEE
Each department shall at the next officers' meeting bring in one name and one alternate to
serve on this Committee. The objective is to set up one set of safety rules to govern the Fire Service.
ELECTION
Chief Lewandowski made a motion to reelect Chief Mark Wnuk as Chairman of the Board of
Fire Chiefs. This was seconded by Asst. Chief McMahon. This motion passed unanimously.
OTHER BUSINESS
Chief Simons reported the the officers of the Berlin Fire Department toured the new condo's at
Silver Lake. There are 18 units and three units have already been occupied. Chief Simons discussed
some of the procedures that the fire departments would have to take in case of an alarm there.
PARADE
Chief Lewandowski reported on the Torch Light Parade that took place on December 2, 2003.
Everything went well except for the frigid weather. Everyone has a good time and the fire apparatus
were decorated beautifully.
ADJOURN
A motion was made by Chief Folcik and was seconded by Chief Lewandowski to adjourn the
meeting at 8:45 PM.
