3/3/1988YOUTH SERVICES ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES
Meeting Thursday, March 3, 1988 at 7:00 PM, Room #9, Town Hall
Members Present: Rich Peronace, Sue Buckley, Deb Staszewski, Irene Bandzes, Antoinette
Pajor, and Lisa Sinkewicz.
An informal meeting was held tonight to discuss the re-orgahization of the Youth
Services Advisory Board.
New members Deb Staszewski'of the Berlin -Kensington YMCA, and Irene Bandzes, a
Service Consumer, were introduced. A brief discussion of the purpose and history of
Youth Services followed. Lisa mentioned the possibility of'other new members to be
in attendance at the April meeting, and the beginning steps of forming a Youth Advi-
sory Council to solicit information and.ideas from the student population. Hopefully
this will also be finalized by the April meeting.
The group then discussed issues we might want to focus on in the future, inclu-
ding the possibility of "Host Homes" in Berlin, and expanding the Nature's Classroom.
experience to include the fifth graders in Griswold and Hubbard schools. The annual
DCYS Grant must be submitted by the end of April, and new ideas may be incorporated.
After much discussion, it was decided to hold the April meeting on the second
Thursday of the month, April'14. A permanent meeting time would be decided when more
members were present.
