Meeting Thursday, December 4, 1986 at 7:00 PM, Room #9, Town Hall
Members Present: John Myers,. Betty Tedeschi, sue Buckley, Rich Peronace, Antoinette
Snyder, and Lisa Nosel.
Members Absent: John Baccaro, Kelli Tolomea, Marcie Naldi, Rex Smith, and Sister Victoria.
The meeting was called toorderat 7:20 by Chairperson John Myers.
The minutes of the previous meeting (September 18, 1986) were read. A motion was made by
Betty Tedeschi to accept the minutes, and was seconded by Sue Buckley.
VOTE: Approved, unanimously.

other new members Are Sister Victoria representing St. Paul's School, and Rex Smith, rep-
resenting Berlin High School.
old Business:
A. Lisa has been receiving requests from Board of Education members to see the results of
the Needs Assessment. Also members of FAD are very eager to see the results. The
Advisory Board agreed to form a committee to study the Needs Assessment and compile
a summary of the key points. This summary could then be presented to the Board of
Education, and possible programming could be discussed. Sue Buckley, Betty Tedeschi,
L John Myers, and Lisa Nosel will serve on this committee, which will meet Monday, Dec.15,.
at 11:00 AM in Room #9, Town Hall.
B. Sue Buckley, John Myers, and Lisa Nosel will serve on a committee to devise a Youth
Services Brochure, to be completed by June 1987. Work on this committee will begin
in January.
Youth Services would like to participate in the Berlin Fair in 1987. It was suggested
that we present a slide show -or video program of youth activities in Town. Lisa will
contact someone to request space, and see what is available, and how much it would cost.
We will then send a letter -.in January to various youth groups, asking them to begin
taking slides that we could use in our presentation. These groups will include the Boy
Scouts, Girl Scouts, Camp
amp Fire Girls, church groups, YMCA, Park and Recreation, Little
League, Reading Program at the,library, school sports, and school clubs and activities.
Betty Tedeschi, Rich Peroncae, John Myers, and Lisa Nosel will serve on this committee.
New Business:
A. Programming through the DCY ' S Grant is continuing, The Job Bank and the Wilderness Pro-
gram are in operation. Park and Recreation is planning a Winter Carnival day for mid-
dle school students this winter. Lisa is'investigating the need for a Student Assistance
Program in the High School, and also the need for a Host Homes Program. There have been
several older teenagers referred to Youth Services that have had no where to stay, often
Lbecause of problems at home.
B. FAD is sponsoring parent education lectures through Willard PTO - they have been quite
successful. Youth Services would like to sponsor some workshops/lectures involving
parenting issues, and'will begin work on this after Christmas.
