Call to Order Chairman Colaresi called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. 2. Audience of Citizens None. 3. Read the Minutes of January 21, 2021 & January 29, 2021 – Need to Approve Mr. Benson moved to approve the January 21, 2021 and January 29, 2021 meeting minutes. Seconded by Mr. Pastuszak. Those voting in favor: Mr. Benson, Mr. Colaresi, Mr. Hornkohl, Mr. Pastuszak Vote being 4-0. MOTION CARRIED. 4. Old Business A. Public Grounds Report - Trees removal update o Ledge – Distinctive proposes to take down all 9 trees along Cashman Place that were tagged for removal by Tree Warden Karp for a fee not to exceed $7,500 (for 3 days of work). Distinctive recommends grinding the 9 stumps for an additional $3,500 which will prevent digging into the bank or disrupting established graves. o Denison – Material along the bank of the brook: Distinctive proposes to repel workers down the hill of the bank, and as material is cut it will be wrapped, winched along the brook and chipped on site. Cost will range from $3,000 - $7,500 depending on how many days on site. Superintendent Wood will meet with Tree Warden Karp and 1 2021-02-18 Cemetery Committee Meeting Inland/Wetlands liaison Jim Horbal to ensure the proposed work is appropriate and does not interfere with wetlands restrictions. o Denison – branches / brush in easement - Distinctive also provided a quote not to exceed $5,500 to clean up the watershed right-of-way area. Any work in that location would have to be approved by the Worthington Fire (Water) District and abutting property owner. Chairman Colaresi reported that he spoke with the Worthington Fire District Superintendent who indicated he is willing to clean the area. Chairman Colaresi suggested that the Cemetery Committee wait and see what the Worthington Fire District accomplishes before considering whether to fund further clean-up. - Fencing o Dunham – New Britain Fence measured the site to require 155 feet of black fencing at $23/foot to total $3,565. That will move forward as the weather permits and be paid out of the Town’s 2020/2021 Cemetery budget funds. o Ledge – New Britain Fence measured the site to require approximately 212 feet of black fencing at $23/foot to total about $4,876. (The existing pillars and gate will be taken down and reconstructed so the measurement will need to be confirmed.) o Beckley / Christian / Denison – would begin to be addressed beginning with the new fiscal year on 7/1/21. 5. New Business Chairman Colaresi moved to engage Distinctive Tree remove 9 trees, grind stumps and remove grindings at Ledge Cemetery for a fee not to exceed $11,000. Seconded by Mr. Benson Those voting in favor: Mr. Benson, Mr. Colaresi, Mr. Hornkohl, Mr. Pastuszak Vote being 4-0. MOTION CARRIED. Mr. Benson moved to engage Distinctive Tree to remove branches and interfering trees as necessary at Denison Cemetery for a fee not to exceed $7,500, subject to the approval of Tree Warden Karp and Inlands/Wetlands liaison Horbal. Seconded by Mr. Pastuszak. Those voting in favor: Mr. Benson, Mr. Colaresi, Mr. Hornkohl, Mr. Pastuszak Vote being 4-0. MOTION CARRIED. 2 2021-02-18 Cemetery Committee Meeting Town Clerk Wall reminded meeting attendees that any on-site meetings with Committee members and vendors require advance public notice and minutes of such meetings. Chairman Colaresi reported that he received a call from the Eagle Scout coordinator that a scout would like to cut brush at cemeteries and other scouts are interested in improving the cemeteries. When the weather allows, Chairman Colaresi will meet with the interested scout to outline a scope of work, which would be presented to the Cemetery Committee for approval, presented to the Eagle Scout Board for approval and then Town Council for approval. 6. Adjournment Mr. Benson moved to adjourn at 6:25 p.m. Seconded by Mr. Pastuszak. Those voting in favor: Mr. Benson, Mr. Colaresi, Mr. Hornkohl, Mr. Pastuszak Vote being 4-0. MOTION CARRIED.
