To consider and act upon the abandonment of a portion of Selden Street. 2. To take such action as may be proper to authorize the Board of Selectmen to transfer a parcel of land adjoining Selden Street to the Rocky River Realty Company. 3. Mr. Morgan Seelye presented the following resolution: RESOLVED: Under provisions of Section 13A-49 of the Connecticut General Statutes revision of 1958, as amended, the following portions of Selden Street are hereby discontinued and abandoned: That portion of Selden Street being about 880 feet in length as lies in th. Town of Berlin, County of Hartford and State of Connecticut bounded and described as follows: NORTHERLY: by the town line between the Town of Berlin and the Town of Newington, and its extension easterly; EASTERLY: by land of The Rocky River Realty Company; SOUTHERLY: 23.5 feet by existing Selden Street, the division line being the ex- tension northwesterly of the boundary line between land of The Rocky River Realty Company and land now or formerly John Jagan to the easterly boundary of Selden Street; WESTERLY: on existing Selden Street; and AGAIN WESTERLY: by land of The Rocky River Realty Company. Together also with so much of Selden Street as is located northerly of the northerly boundary of the above lands and lying easterly of the town line, between the Town of Newington and the Town of Berlin. Containing a total of about 0.75 acre, more or less. Mr. Morgan Seelye presented the following resolution: RESOLVED: That the Selectmen be and they are hereby authorized, and empowered to transfer to the Rocky River Realty Company a certain piece or parce of land situated in the Town of Berlin, bounded as follows: Any right, title or interest in and to the following described property. situated on the southeasterly side of Connecticut Route #15 also known as the Berlin Turnpike and containing 0.72 acre, more or less, and bounded and described as follows: Commencing at the point in the southeasterly boundary line of State Highway Route #15 said point marking the intersection of said highway boundary line and the boundary line between the Town of Berlin and the Town of Newington; thence N34°50'E189.9 feet along said State Highway boundary to a point; thence S82"15'E 101.2 feet to a C.H.D. The resolution was moved, seconded and unanimously adopted. Mr. William Diskin presented the following resolution: RESOLVED: WHEREAS, Section 7-339 and through Section 7-339L of the General Statutes of Connecticut, as amended, provides for the formation of Interlocal Agreements for certain purposes, and WHEREAS, the Town of Berlin is interested in the formulation of an Interlocal Agreement dealing with the subject of refuse collection and disposal and use of public dumps. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Berlin, acting by its Legislative body hereby votes, pursuant to Section 7-339c of the General Statutes of Connecticut, as amended, to initiate an Interlocal Agreement by the establish- ment of an Interlocal Agreement Commission for the purpose of dealing with the subject of refuse collection and disposal and use of public dumps. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the following individuals be appointed to said Commission: Mary N. Clapp William F. Diskin Alfred J. Curnow Frederick R. Downs Ludmil A. Bomba Town Clerk SELECTMEN'S MEETING - ~ARCH 9, 1970 The meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m. at the Berlin High School by First Selectman Arthur B. Powers. All selectmen were present. The minutes of the meeting of March 2, 1970 were read and accepted. Discussion was held on Sturgeon - Kierwiak drainage problem on Crater Lane. Mr. Powers and Mr. Johansen will visit the area on Tuesday with Assistant Town Engineer Alfred Curnow to determine what the town's responsibility is.
