Relocation of the Hatchery Brook Trail seconded by Vice Chairman Hoffman,
passed unanimously.
I. Relocation of the Hatchery Brook Trail
Commissioner Lewis met with Elizabeth Buckley, trail adopter who is
very interested in relocating and completing the Hatchery Brook
Trail. Commissioner Lewis reported there is no down side to doing

OLD BUSINESS:
Upbeat - Lauren Salee reported to the commission that the Upbeat grew 140
plants in the BHS Greenhouse for the Community Garden Fundraiser. Ms. Salee
has a successor possibly two in place. She hopes to bring them to the next
Conservation Meeting to meet the commission.
Mountain Bike Race at Hatchery Brook 2018 - Lauren Salee and the Upbeat
House worked on the cleanup of bike race property prior to and after the bike
race. She reported the trails are in good shape.
Commissioner Lewis walked the trails prior to the race as well as after the race.
He reported that the trails looked good after the race and the group did a great
job getting it back to good. Vice Chairman Hoffman reported there are a couple of
areas that need attention on the trails. These problem areas occurred prior to the
bike race.
Community Garden - Commissioner Pagliaro and Marek Kozikowski met with
Public Grounds Foreman Steve Wood and discussed mulch and fence issues.
Commissioner Pagliaro reported all the plots except one small plot are rented.
None of the fence companies got back to her on the bids. Steve Wood asked what
the cost was to take down the fence. Commissioner Pagliaro prosed public
grounds possibly take down the existing fence.
Chairman Delorenzo is in contact with Eversource about the potential grant. It
has been added to the Town Council Agenda for the next meeting.
Marek Kozikowski will check to see if the picnic table at the garden can be stored,
somewhere once the fence project has begun.
Commissioner Pagliaro would like to get rid of the metal composter on the garden
property.
Commissioner Pagliaro reported that the garden sign went missing. Next garden
season, she would also like to get a combination lock and give out the code when
people pay for their plot.
Eagle Project - Evan Roccapriore finished the Eagle Project and brought a copy
with pictures of before and after for the Commission. The Commission
commended him. He built a picnic table as well as painted another one. Mr.
Roccapriore reported to the Commission that there was graffiti on the picnic table
every time they went back to give the picnic table another coat of paint. The next
step is for Jack Healy the Town Manager to sign off on the Eagle Project.
GreatJob Evan!!!
CORRESPONDENCE - Commissioner Lewis brought attention to the commission,
the Berlin GIS Website. There is information and historical pictures from 1926 that
are fascinating to see.
ADJOURNMENT: Commissioner Lewis made a motion to adjourn the meeting at
7:45 pm, seconded by Commissioner Mazza, passed unanimously.
Sincerely,
Marlo Thomas Matassa
