OFFICE 0F THE SELECTMEN
The meeting opened at 7:30 p.m. with the three Selectmen present.
Mrs. Mahan and Mrs. Duplln were present for the Press.
Board members discussed in detail the Commisslons and Oummittees
for which the Board of Finance did not approve budgets.
Mr. Lanzoni moved, Mr. Blackburn seconded, asking Town Counsel for
an opinion as to whether or not it is legal for the Board of Finance
to eliminate reasonable budgets for Commissions and Committees which
have been appointed either by the Board of Selectmen or approved at
Town Meetings. Unless budgets for these Commissions a~ C~mmittees
are approved they cannot, in affect, operate. Upon receipt of Town
Counsel's opinion, the Board of Selectmen will determine what, if any,
further action to be taken. Motion carried.
Mr. Lanzoni moved, Mr. Blackburn seconded, setting April 27, 1964,
from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. date for voter registration.
The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
