Members in attendance were : Marilyn Brierley; Hollis Kincaid; Ingeborg Lukens , representing the Beautification Committee ; Sally Macfarlane , Chairman ; Emil Carlson , Building Inspector and Juliet Benjamin , Secretary. The Committee met with Mr . William Longoria of the BERLIN MOTORCYCLE SALVAGE , 167 New Britain Road, Kensington to discuss plans for a 3-1/2 ' x 4 ' sign. The Committee also met with Mr. Anthony Micacci , Owner of T.M. TOOL COMPANY, INC. , 134 Commerce St . , East Berlin to discuss plans for a 40 ' x 57 ' addition on the south side of the main building . Also appearing before the Committee was Dr. Edward F . Hartney Owner of CHIROPRACTIC CARE CENTER, 3 Webster Square Road, Berlin to discuss plans for a sign being constructed by Bianca Sign Co . Inge Lukens , representing the Beautification Committee reported that "Clean-Up, Spruce-Up Weeks" were successful and that the Kiwanis Club cleaned up around the underpass on Farmington Ave . , the Boy Scouts cleaned up around the paper recycling and the garden clubs have planted flowers around town in the various tubs . Three new liners and tops have been ordered for the trash receptacles on Main Street and Sussman' s has purchased two new tops for their receptacles . The Dairy Queen owner has also done a very nice job in picking up the Dairy Queen property and the plantings look very well . Inge also reported that Mr . Simeone is planting in tubs around his station near Sussman ' s and this will do a great deal to spruce up the area . jkb
