The meeting opened at 7:30 p.m. with the three Selectmen present.
Item I Minutes of the meeting of April 15, 1963 were accepted as written.
item II Mr. Powers distributed copies of Charter for the Mattabassett
District and read letter from Louis L. Teich, Chairman of the District
in which Mr. Teich advises that no action be taken until pending
legislation is passed by the Legislature.
Pr. Kerin moved, Mr. Lanzoni seconded, that providing Legislature
passes House Bill 3909 and or Senate Bill 361 as amended, that we hold
a referendum on the Charter of the Mattabassett District on the same date
that we hold the referendum on the new Town Charter.
Item III Mr. Powers read copy of letter, dated April 18, 1963, from
Hugh H. Graham to Robert F. Probst, Chairman of. the Zoning Commission
in which he outlines reasons for the TOWn of Berlin to exercise extreme
caution in dealing with the City of New Britain's request to purchase land
in the Panther Swamp area.
Mr. [erin moved, Mr. Lanzoni seconded, to hold in abeyance any action
~.on Mr. Graham's letter until such time as report is received from James
P. £issane, Director of Public Works.(Minutes of the Meeting - Item III -

Item IV Mr. Lanzoni moved, the Board concurred, appointment of Donald Ward,
Main Street, East Berlin, alternate member to the Zoning Board of Appeals.
The meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
