1989-12-14 FIRE BOARD MEETING Dec . 14, 1989 The meeting was called to order al, 7 : 11 P. M. by Chairman Roar Lindgren. Motion was made by Joe Gorneault and seconded by Chet Haber to accept the previous minutes as read. Motion passed unanimously. No meeting had been held in November. Ron read balances of all accounts. Correspondence Connecticut Radio Inc. pertaining to radios. Letter from the Town Clerk pertaining to Fire Board meeting schedule . Agenda for Planning Commission November 28 and December 12 , 1989. Budget summary from Gary Clinton. Letter from Lifaline Safety Products pertaining to the PALS for life. Letter from the Executive Board - the Fire Board will meet Tuesday Jan. 23, 1990 at 8: 30 P.M. Officers Input Chief Haber reported that the four Chiefs will meet next Thursday, December 21 , 1989 at Kensington Fire Department. Chief Lewandowski reported that Hunters will be moving to Kensington Fire Department in the near future . Jim Simons reported on ladder and aerial ladder testing from The Conn. Fire Technician Association. Jim Simons brought up the .49 pair of boots which were purchased without authorization. Discussion followed. Chief Lewandowski asked how he can comply to 0. S. H. A. about the 3 wire electrical equipment. Discussion followed. Jim Simons wants to know what to- do with the empty drum of MD165 boot and hose cleaner. Jim will set up a demonstration on a new cleaner. Mark Lewandowski reported that radios from the ambulance are available. The Board reviewed the Budget for 1990-91 year. Joe Gorneault brought up about officers on the Fire Board. Discussion followed. Ron reported that he received a drum of Fire Out. The drum is at South Kensington Fire Dept. and was donated by Industrial Safety Supply. Mark Lewandowski requested that Kensington Fire Dept. be considered if any money is available - he would like his 4 - 2 . 5 air tanks that he put in for. Mark Lewandowski discussed the new straps for the 4. 5 Scott Air Packs and said he thinks that the regulator has to be taken apart . This operation should be done by a vendor.
