1989-05-25 FIRE BOARD MEETING May 25, 1989 The meeting was called to order at 7 : 15 P.M. by Chairman Ron Lindgren. Motion was made by Charlie Scheer and seconded by Chet Haber to accept the minutes of the previous meeting as read. Motion passed unanimously. Ron read balances of all accounts. CORRESPONDENCE: Letter from Mayor Peters pertaining to the meeting on the mobile home park. OFFICERS INPUT TO THE MEETING: Chief Haber discussed the meeting with the four chiefs in the Mayors office pertaining to OSHA regulations June 1 , 1989. Chief Haber also discussed the state paying for a new weight lifting machine for East Berlin Fire Department from the Fire Prevention Control Commission. Chief Haber reported that the four department officers will meet every other month and the chiefs will meet every other month. The drill masters will also meet on the same nights as the chiefs but at seperate meetings. Chet Haber reported on the radios from Keith Victor. Discussion followed. Chet and Ron will work on getting radios ordered. OLD BUSINESS: Chief Haber reported on taking Engine #11 to New Haven Fire School June 5 - 9, 1989. Chief Haber reported on taking Engine #10 to Sturbridge , MA. June 25 - 27 , 1989. Ron reported on the telephone poll _reference awarding South Kensington Fire Department ' s new engine contract to Peirce Truck Company. The telephone poll May 2 , 1989 was unanimous to order South Kensington' s new Peirce engine. Motion was made by Chet Haber and seconded by Joe Gorneault to go along with South Kensington' s purchase of a Peirce Fire Truck. Motion passed unanimously. Chet asked about the foam. The Board will order $1 , 200. 00 worth of foam. Mark Lewandowski presented literature about stickers for labeling equipment . NEW BUSINESS: Discussion on budget equipment but of the present budget.
