A. 1. The November 17, 1997 meeting of the Commission For The Aging was called to order at 7:06 p.m. by Chairlady Lorraine Clark. Members Present: Betty Baldyga, Lorraine Clark-Chairlady, Norman Johnson, and Director Ellen Rukowicz; Members Absent: Rev Hugh B. Penney Members Excused: Assistant Director JoAnn Budzinski, Marilyn Meigs 2. Minutes of the September, 1997 meeting - A Motion was made to accept the minutes of the September, 1997 meeting by Betty Baldyga and seconded by Norman Johnson. All in favor- Motion carried. 3. Audience of Citizens- None B. OLD BUSINESS 1. Flu Clinic Report: The report from Director Ellen Rukowicz was that 595 attended for the flu clinic. That count was down from the previous year. The approximate count being 700. Possibility of the unattended was the various other flu clinics being held in Town of Berlin. (Ferndale and CVS) Also the increase in price from $5.00 to $7.00. 2. Kitchen Stove Replacement Progress: $4,700.00 being allocated for the purchase of the new stove for the Berlin Senior Center. Counsel members became involved questioning the fee for the shipping charge. Questions raised as to why the Town of Berlin could not pick up saving the money for shipping/pick up charges. Presently the new stove is on its way from a California based Company. The primary store that the stove was purchased is based in Berlin. 3. Re-Schedule Senior Social: The Senior Social has been rescheduled for May 6, 1998 between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Groton Senior Center has three (3) different types of entertainment which Chairlady Lorriane Clark will look into for the Berlin Social. Both Betty Baldyga and Chairlady Lorraine Clark will search the possibility of Gnazzo's, Sam's Shaw's and Food Mart to prepare sometime of finger food. NEW BUSINESS 1. Approved 1998 Commission on the Aging meetings -see attached. The next meeting of the Commissioners of the Aging will be held as scheduled on January 26, 1998 at 7:00 p.m. The agenda will follow prior to. Have both a safe and healthy holiday.
