O,?PO R Al 0) COMMISSION OFFICE OF cna TNc AGING; THE DIRECTOR A. 1. The November 20, 1995 meeting of the Commission For The Aging was called to order I at 7:07 p.m. by Chairlady Lorraine Clark. Members Present: Agnes Maier, Marilyn Meigs, Leo Melowicz and Rev. Hugh B. Penney Excused: Betty Baldyga, Director Ellen Burbridge and Mary Wilcox 2. Introduction of new commissioner-was carried over until the January meeting, once again she was unable to attena the November meeting; 3. Minutes of the September, 1995 meeting - A Motion was made to accept the previous minutes by Leo Melowicz, Seconded by Agnes Maier. All in favor- Motion carried. 4. Audience of Citizens - No Report B. OLD BUSINESS 1. Review of Flu Clinic - Director Ellen Burbridge reported to Chairlady Lorraine Clark that the flu clinic was well attended. Approximately 720 seniors showed up. Parking still poses a problem. All in all, it weni very well. 2. Senior Craft Fair-This craft fair was once again a success being held on Election day, November 7. It was very well attended. The clear profit was approximately $1,000.00. 3. Political Parties - No Report. 4. Spring Fling- Betty Baldyga was unable to attend this Commission meeting. She is presently still collecting information from difference caterers. C. NEW BUSINESS 1. Letter from Mayor Peters - A letter dated October 5, 1995 from Mayor Peters, thanking all the Commissioners who served during his time at office. 2. Meeting schedule for 1996- Is attached to the minutes. 3. Food Share - Chairlady Lorraine Clark will contact Mrs Pager and Share, Ct. in obtaining more information regarding this Food Share Program. It is our understanding that $30.00-$35.00 worth of food is given to the Seniors. The seniors contribution would be $15.00 plus two (2) hours of volunteering. The senior center would contribute $14.00 for each senior towards the Food Share. Volunteers would be needed to pick up the food with a truck or U- haul at the distribution centers. As indicated above, the commissioners will obtain more information to review this type of program for the Berlin Seniors. 4. Assistant Director-Joanne Budzinski has been appointed to the position as a full time employee. Joanne is replacing Assistant Director Pat Amenta and will assist Director Ellen Burbridge. Good Luck on your newly appointed position. Rev. Hugh B. Penny is a representative for the North central-AAA Group. He has indicated that Pam Morrill would speak for a group of seniors regarding Managed care. Please be advised that the Agenda for the meeting of January 22nd, 1996, will be sent prior to that date.
