PRESENT - Chairman Richard Schmidt, Vice Chairman William Welch, Michele Spacek, Joseph Roberts, Michael DeLorenzo, Rachel Symonaitis and Richard Glidden. ABSENT - Catherine Jortner and Christina Berger. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Glidden made a motion to accept the minutes of August 13 , 1996 as written. Seconded by Vice Chairman Welch. All in favor. Motion carried. AUDIENCE OF CITIZENS None. OLD BUSINESS A. Use of Town Lands Commissioner Roberts stated that he contacted Debbie Dennis of the Park and Recreation Department regarding photo identification cards and on 9/23/96 the remaining Land Care Volunteers may have their photos taken at that time. Commissioner Spacek received pricing info on boundary markers. Commissioner Glidden made a motion to purchase 1, 000 square metal boundary markers (black print on yellow background) at 17c each with the "Town of Berlin Conservation Area" written on them. B. Paper Goods Property Chairman Schmidt worked with Bonnie Therrien and Morgan Seeyle to put together the application to obtain the Paper Goods Property. The application will be presented to the Town Council this evening (September 10, 1996) for consideration. -2- C. Greenway Acquisitions and Development Nothing new to report. D. Non-Point Source Pollution/Education A meeting on 9/12/96 will take place regarding the Mattabassett Water Shed group at Peck Library at 7 : 30 p.m. Commissioner Roberts purchased 6 copies of the wildlife book and is now requesting reimbursement for $60. 00 for those books from the BCC. Commissioner Roberts will draft a document to be presented with each wildlife book and then he will mail copies of the documentation, etc. to Commissioner Spacek to forward. E. Review Action Items Nothing new to report. NEW BUSINESS Chairman DeLorenzo requested that a report be put together regarding allocation of funds by the Town of Berlin to purchase open space. CORRESPONDENCE Chairman Schmidt stated that he received correspondence from Norman Zimmer of Meriden regarding a Planning Meeting on 9/19/96 on Preserving Ridgetops and the "Trap Rock Ridge Protection Ordinance". Chairman Schmidt stated we received a memo from Mayor, Ida Ragazzi, regarding attendance. If a member misses 3 consecutive meetings that member should reevaluate their ability to participate. -3- ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Glidden made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8 : 15 p.m. Seconded by Commissioner DeLorenzo.
