PRESENT - Chairman Richard Schmidt, Vice Chairman Bill Welch, Michelle Spacek, Michael DeLorenzo, Catherine Jortner, and Dave Howe. Sue Wiley, President of the Land Care Trust. ABSENT - Patricia Watson. Sue Wiley, President of the Land Care Trust. S. Wiley presented a rough draft to the BCC for a park/town green to be put in on Massirio Drive. S. Wiley stated that it' s a relatively low cost project. After some discussion, the general consensus of the BCC was that we support the park/town green project 100% . APPROVAL OF MINUTES Bill Welch made a motion to accept the minutes of October 10, 1995 and Michael DeLorenzo seconded the motion. All in favor. AUDIENCE OF CITIZENS Joseph Bajorski, Kensington resident and Land Care Volunteer. David Pawloski, Kensington resident and Land Care Volunteer. Bob & Sheila Claypatch, a Kensington resident. OLD BUSINESS A. Lamentation Mountain Middletown has adopted the Lamentation Mountain Plan as their Plan of Development. B. Use of Town Lands B. Welch reported that he still has not received any paperwork from the Land Care Volunteers. B. Welch spoke with Debbie Dennis, Head of the Park and Recreation Department, regarding obtaining identification cards for the LCV' s. Spacek will coordinate a program with the Hartford Extension Workshop regarding buffer zones-` . educating the public on them. B. Welch, M. Spacek and C. Jortner planted approximately a half dozen trees at Belcher Brook along the stream to start the buffer zone in that area. B. Welch stated that the property from Chamberlain Highway to High Road is at a standstill. The City of New Britain says that there are 3 building lots, but in actuality only one lot can be built on. B. Welch further stated that the BCC' s intention is to acquire the land and leave it as open space. B. Welch stated that he attended the meeting in Haddam on October 30th regarding "Funds for River Restoration" . He found out that the Stan Chem Fish Ladder project can be funded under this program. B. Welch is awaiting an application and further information from the person in charge of this funding program. E. Review Action Items No changes to report at this time. NEW BUSINESS B. Welch suggested that a nature trail be pursued within Sage Park. M. Spacek will walk the site for possibilities. R. Schmidt made a motion to continue the same budget as last year, with any changes for the secretary' s fee, and allow up to $500 for site markers. This was seconded by M. Spacek. All in favor. M. Spacek contacted the DEP regarding putting in bluebird houses at Timberlin. The DEP said that this is something that can be done and she will look into getting the materials for it. CORRESPONDENCE Various correspondence was reviewed. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Dave Howe to adjourn the meeting at 8 : 09 p.m. and seconded by Catherine Jortner. If possible the BCC would like to have their yearly reports for our January 9th meeting. You may return the reports at our meeting on December 12th, or leave them in our mail box at the Town Hall or mail them to the BCC, c/o Town Hall, Berlin.
