The regular meeting of the Conservation Commission was' called to
order at 6: 42 p.m. by Dick Schmidt.
PRESENT - D. Schmidt, B. Welch, J. Dornfried, M. Spacek, D. Howe
ABSENT - P. Watson
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Moved by Dick Schmidt and seconded by Jim Dornfried to accept the
minutes of September 13 , 1994 with no changes.
All in favor of accepting the minutes.
AUDIENCE OF CITIZENS
There was no participation at this time.
OLD BUSINESS
A. Lamentation Mountain
There is nothing new to report at this time.
B. Recycling
There is one individual who oversees the recycling center' s
activity during the hours it is open.
C. Use of Town Lands
Jim Dornfried will proof the final report of the Town-Owned
Space Study. Then it will be forwarded to Dick Schmidt for
approval to print it.
It was agreed that the Town-Owned Space Study will be
dedicated to the late Jack Ritter in his memory.
D. Paper Goods Property
Dick Schmidt, Morgan Seeyle and Mayor Bob Peters will meet on
Thursday, October 27 , 1994 to discuss inspection of the dam.
E. Greenway Acquisition and Development
There is nothing new to report at this time.

F. Review Action Items
There is nothing new to report at this time.
NEW BUSINESS
The Conservation Commission voices its support to establish a
walking/biking proposed trail in East Berlin. The Conservation
Commission feels it is appropriate use of open space land as
mentioned, and is consistent with the Plan of Development Goals as
stated on page 50. Bill Welch motions we support as recommended
for the walking/biking trail. Jim Dornfried seconded the motion.
All in favor.
CORRESPONDENCE
Various correspondence was reviewed. The letter from the DEP to
Mayor Peters stated that grant funding for various proposed
recreational activities as per guidelines will be available. Bill
Welch will obtain an application for a grant to fund the proposed
walking/biking trail.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 8 : 16 p.m.
