The Design Review Committee met at 7:30 P.M. , Monday, August 25,
1975, at the Town Hall. Present were Sally Macfarlane, Ifiarilyn
Brierley, Gary Hermanowski, Dorothy DeGiorgi and Rudy Seeler,
Assistant Building Inspector.
The Committee met with Mr. Brian Victor to discuss his plans to
move his business from 1281 Farmington Avenue, Berlin, to 1026
Wilbur Cross Parkway, Berlin, and put an addition on the building
at the new location. He will be in again with finalized plans.
The Committee also met with Joan Ward, Town Clerk, who is
co-ordinating plans for the Town Hall Dedication and Open House
to be held on Sunday, September 28 from 2 to 5 P. vi. Sally
Macfarlane will present the D. R. C . Award to Mayor Powers at
the ceremony which will start approximately 2:30 P.M. Gary
Hermanowski discussed the D. R. C . exhibit to be set up in the
main reception area. The display is to be set up after 1 P.M.
Saturday, September 27th, and it will remain. thru the month of
October. This includes October 21 (the third Tuesday in October)
the date on which the D. R. C . Awards Ceremony will take place.
The Committee would like to have a new display about three times
a year.
The Committee will consider giving Grand Central Restaurant,
380 Main Street, Kensington, an award. All members are urged to
take a look at the side renovation and addition so that this may
be voted upon at our next meeting.
Mrs. Macfarlane read a letter to Dairy Queen asking when the rest
of their renovation and landscaping project will be completed,
and one to the Y.M.C .A. urging again that a fence be installed in
the rear. She also has written letters of commendation to B & B
Auto Parts , B. W. Brown Trucking Co. , Prentice Corporation and
Service Plaza.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, September 8th, 1975, at 7:30 P.If.. ,
at the Town Hall in Room 9.
