PLAN OF DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
REGULAR MEETING
A Regular Meeting of the Plan of Development Committee was called
to order on Wednesday, June 7 , 2000 at 7 :00 p.m.
PRESENT:
Dennis Kern, Chairman; Michael DeLorenzo, .Secretary; Bruce Moore;
Edward Gentile; Ken Jovin and Mitchell Unghire.
ALSO PRESENT:
Jim Mahoney, Economic Development Director and Brian Miller,
Director of Development Services .
SELECTION OF A. CONSULTANT:
An open discussion was held.
Comments:
Mr. Kern asked the members of the Committee for their comments .
Mr. Gentile stated that the local consultants should be highly
considered, all other points being equal .
Mr. Unghire stated that he believed that TPA would be best able to
convince the community of our plan, and that their presentation
was better than the others ' .
Mr. Jovin feels that TPA was dynamic and covered all the issues .
Mr. Kern has a comfort level with all three groups.
Mr. Miller stated that each of the groups could do the assignment
adequately. He called some other Town Planners who had worked with
TPA and they were very pleased. He also stated that he was
familiar with the A&N team and they were very professional, and
the references for Milone & MacBroom indicated that they did a
good job. .
Mr . Mahoney presented a comparison of the consultant's proposals
and a comparison of proposed fees, highlighting the important
issues .
Mr . Mahoney feels that we should not modify our scope. The
consultant selected should be disciplined enough to follow our
needs .
