OFFICE OF THE SELECTMEN
The meeting opened at 7:30 P.M. with the first and
second selectmen present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and
accepted.
Mr. Hall reported that Mr. Edward Halley was hired
by the Town as dump custodian to replace Wilson.
A letter was written the Planning Commission, a copy
of which is on file, asking that they look into the proposed
incinerator planned to be constructed on Christian Lane by the City
of ~ew Britain .
A motion was made and passed that Mr. Donald A. Powers
of East Berlin and Mr. Ralph Allen of Berlin be appointed to
the Zoning Commission.
Mr. Powers will fill the unexpired term of Mr. L. E.
Bellman and Mr. A:len to fill the unexpired term of ~,'Ir. L. Lawyer.
A letter was written each of the above men.

A copy of
Town Gounsel, George Hamlin dropped in this evening
and notified theBoard that it was now legal to se~l the Murray
property.
The Police Cormmission was discussed this evening, and
Mr. Hall pointed out that July 13th. would be the latest dated that
a public metting could be held.
Mr. Nilsson recommended that in as much as the meeting
which was scheduled for May had not been held that it be postponed
until September.
Mr, Hall to discuss the matter with Mr. Oliver Porter
and report back at the next regular meeting.
Mr. Hall reported that it was brought to his attention that
a resident State Policeman was not available on a one town basis and that
one or two towns had to be involved.
~,~,r. Hall stated that he has not yet taken the matter up
with Co~mnissioner Hickey.

Minutes of the ADVISORY COORDINATING C~JNCIL MEETING - June 29, 1953
7:30 P.M. - with the following members present:

There being no quorum, an informal discussion was held
relative to the establishing of a 8ewer Authority in the Town.
It was agreed to contact Charles T. Main, Eng~ineer, and request
that he come to Berlin and meet with the Planning Oommission on
July 13th. It was agreed~to have him estimate the cost of a survey
of the sewer systems, improvements to same, and future extensions.
