The Park and teoreation Commission met november 16 at a p.m. in the Town
Hall. Those present were Chairman Dennehy and :-essers. Gurskis and Dolan.
Recreation Director Mr. Baylock and <<r. Denis and Mr. LaRosa of the nark
and Maintenance Departments.
Mr. Dennis stated that two basketball backboards will be placed in the south
tennis court at the Kensington Grammer School . The fill will be removed
from the skating rink in East Berlin. The aluminum has been purchased for
the roof on the comfort station and the roof will be replaced immediately.
The boxes for the } laygrcunds will be assembled.
The committee recommended Mr. Dennis, Mr. LaRosa and Mr. Haber to decide
on the purchase of a snow blower.
Mr. Dennehy stated the ,. :rchase of a dual saw first must be approved by
the Finance Board.
Mr. LaRosa truck expense approximately 325.00 per month will appear in the
Park an Recreation budget of 1963.
Mr. Thomson representing the Memorial Day Committee presented an itemized
list of expenses of approximately 60u.00 which will appear in the park
and recreation budget of 1963.
Mr. La::osa will place a plywood floor in the storage speace in the Community
house.
Mr. Dennehy received from Mr. Langelier the chemical breakdown for the pool.
The cost will be 1,500.00 per season.
Mr. Baylcck stated that basketball will be held each Saturday during the
winter months. The program will be limited to the 13-15 age group excluding
junior varsity and high school players.
The secretary will contact the Moore Fund for a tentative date for a meeting
preferably a date in the first two weeks in December.
