The Park and Recreation Colnnission held a special meeting April 1 at
8 p.m. in Town Hall.
Those present were Chairman Dennehy, Mrs. Mu by and Messrs Gurskis,

Donald Hubert, director of the adult edua at ion program in the public
schools, explained the purpose and function of education programs now
offered, as they differed tram those renuired by the State in all towns
with a population of 14,004 or over.
Mr. aiorskis distributed copies of the Statutes pertaining to adult
education. This copy is attached to these minutes.
It was the general opinion of toss present that all adult education
was a `:tinction of the Board of Rduoation, but no action was taken on
the proposal that the Recreation Department usx mre the responsibility
for Lhe socalled hobby and recreational type of instruction offered.
