1969-06-10 MINUTES OF THE CONSERVATION COMMISSION June 10, 1969 Those present at the last meeting of the fiscal year were Messrs. Bengston, Benson, Dr. Chotkowski. Mrs.Clapp and Mr. Murray (ex officio). The chairman opened the meeting with a discussion of the possibility of acquiring the Sage property as a park for East Berlin. Mr. Benson had no fur- ther progress to report. but the matter will be pursued. Mr. Murray reported that the Georgini land was still tied up, but that the YMCA lawyer was at work on it, and title would be cleared in two or three weeks and transferred then. There was a discussion of site possibilities for a new Town Hall, but no decisions to report. Mr. Murray said the Kloskowski land was being considered, and there was informal agreement that this would be a good site. He was directed a to continue efforts to obtain an option. Mr. Muaay also reported on remaining parcels to be acquired for the Ragged .•� Meuntain Memorial Preserve. noting that one individual refused to sell; one wanted a road from West Lane to his land. 1, I � No further reports on individual gifts of land. There was also no action regarding the sewer right-of-way for the fire district. There was sir a brief discussion about presenting the schools with some of the materials from the Connecticut Conservation Association, but no decision was reaohed. Mrs. Clapp mentioned an effort to initiate conservation education in the New Britain school system and noted that the possibilities should be explored for Berlin.
