1972-04-18 morglor `�. MINUTE OF THE CONSERVATION OMISSION April 18, 1972 Those present were A. Benston, chairman, A. Nieman, V. Ringrose, A. Benson and Mrs. Clapp. Absent: J. Paskiewicz, L. Chotkowski Agenda `` I. Glen property. Mr. Murray reported that New Britain will, sell the property; Their appraisal was done by their city assessor. The New Britain Board of Finance has final authority over disposition, but the chance that it will take advantage of the opportunity is favorable. The New Britain appraiser, Mr. Cain, will write Mr. Murray regarding the results of his work, and the price will be negottiated with the Water Board. New Britain might also sell tkm Hart's Pond. II Paper Goods Pond and Sherwood Tool Co. : Mr. Bengston reported that Mr. Cacavalli is receptive to the idea of giving the pond to the town for in- come tax advantages. No decision has been made, but the matter will be pursued. III Mr. Bengston reported briefly on the Dutch Treat luncheon and the presen- tation of Mr. Godfrey of the Water and Sewer Commission. He also reported on the meeting ratifying the interlocal agreement for solid waste disposal and on the appointments made to the advisory board. IV Ragged Mountain Memorial Preserve: Mr. Murray reported that mix monies reserved for purchase of Norton property would have to be returned to the state, but that reapplication could be made and that it could be done without another town meeting. He indicated that there would be no difficulty in getting the money back. V Wetlands: Mr. Murray reported on prelim inary investigation of property owned by Messrs. Laueche, Verniand and Bagdigian and Miss Lindquist. It was decided to take a field trip on April 30, at 1:30 p.m. to look over the wetland area off Middletown Road. members will meet at the Route 72 diner. Mr. Bengston indicated that we should also try to look at Wigwam Road and Sage Park. VI The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 16. Meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m. M. Clapp, Sec. Motion: Mr. Bengston, That the town of Berlin acquire wetland area bounding Sage Park on the West and south, along the east side of land bordering the "gorge, and down to Middletown Road.
