O-PORATi,
May 2, 1978
Meeting of the Inland Wetlands and Water Courses Commission was called
to order by Chairman Bengston at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. Those present
were: Commissioner Wiezalis, Commissioner Harris, Commissioner Bourgoin,
Agent Rich Howard, and Chairman Bengston.
The following items were discussed:
1. Application 78-4W. This application was never taken out. It was
proposed as a method of filling in the old hay pond east of
Percival Field owned by the Town of Berlin. The Contractor that
is building the housing for the elderly has asked permission
to dump a lot of the tree stumps and brush that is to be removed
from the site into this pond. However, the Commission never
was approached from the Town requesting that the pond be filled
in. Discussion followed. It was decided that no action would
be necessary at the present time. (See memo attached).
2. Discussion was held on the property at 36 Winesap Road owned by
Joseph and Diane Kozlowski. Mrs. Kozlowski has requested that
permission be given to clean out the brook running at the rear
of her property. Her intent is to clean out the edge of the
brook with a shovel and wheelbarrow. Mr. Howard suggested that
a letter be written to Mrs. Kozlowski giving her permission to
clean the brook by hand, not allowing any construction equipment
or damming up of the brook.
3. Minutes of April 4, 1978 were presented. Motion was made by
Commissioner Harris, seconded by Commissioner Wiezalis, to
approve the minutes as read. All in favor. Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Kathleen Bourgoin
