BERLIN PLANNING COMHISSION
The special meeting of the Berlin Planning Coummission was called to order at
5:10 P.M. on August 25, 1992 by chairman Cynthia Wilcox. Those present and
seated were Susan Wiley, Gale Porter, and Tim Zigmont. Town Planner Bill
Voelker and Recording Secretary Sharon Guite were also present. Joan Carey,
Dennis Kern, and Eileen Meskfll were absent.
I. Site plan of Bethany Covenant Church to construct a 22,000 square foot
church facility at Lot 15, Block 132, located at the northeasterly
corner of Mill Street and Berlin Street. Hr. Voelker read a letter
from the Police Con~aission in which they gave their approval of the
original plans as proposed. The plans were revised to address concerns
regarding grading up to the tree line; grading has been pulled back
and pine trees and vegetation will he planted which will help stabilize
the increased slope. A Conservation £asement has also been added to
the revised plans to address comments of the Commission at the last
meeting. A motion was made by Hr. Z£gmont, seconded by Hrs. Porter and
voted unanimously to grant site plan approval subject to the following:
1. Note added to the site plan with the date and conditions of
action taken by the IWWC.
l. Note added to the site plan of action taken by Zoning Board of
Appeals.
3. Provide handicap ramps on sidewalks at locations as reconmended
by the Town Planner.
Revise sidewalk location on landscaped island in the parking lot
as recommended by the Town Planner.
5. Intermix of black pines through the landscaped area on easterly
end of site.
6. Receipt of bond to be set by staff.
A motion was made by Hrs. Porter, seconded by Ms. Wiley and voted unanimously
to adjourn the meeting at 5:20 P.M.
