Members Present: Chairman David Borthwick, Bette Bennett, Donna Moore, Sharon
Powell, Rosalie Punkunus, Al Scapellati, Frank Steele, Chris
Sullivan and Carol Welz.
Members Absent: None.
Others Present: Sara Munson and Cathy Nelson.

Chairman David Borthwick called the meeting to order at 7:OOpm.
AUDIENCE OF CITIZENS
None.
Motion was made by Frank Steele, seconded by Donna Moore to amend page 5 of the
September 6, 2000 Library Board Special Meeting minutes to read recommend keeping
CD limits (5), passed unanimously.

Monthly Report of Sara Munson and Cathy Nelson dated September 2000 - Sara's
highlights were: Computer Classes on October 19 & 26, 2000 for Window NT Training
has been cancelled and enclosure of Friends envelopes. Cathy's highlights were: staff
has been practicing Sirsi.
Chairman David Borthwick asked about Kent Rutledge and backing up of the enlarging
database file for the Local History Project. Sara said Winzip is being used on the
computer's hard drive and Kent has also a backup on his own computer. In the future the
library will need zipdrive for backup. It is estimated that the project is about 2/3 done.
Also discussed were the statistics for the month of September 2000.

Chairman David Borthwick asked Sara about the budget preparation for the coming
fiscal year.

Cathy Nelson said the Friends met last night; a storyteller will present a pre - school and
upper grade program on scary stories; the Scholastic Book sale is scheduled for the first
week in December and the Madrigals are coming in the month of December.

Next meeting scheduled for December on the Director's Goals.

Cathy Nelson said that after a review of the Library Board Policies it was determined that
no changes were needed and this section is fine as printed.
COMMUNICATIONS
None.
OLD BUSINESS
Litigation with a Patron and the Library's dumpster is at the Town Council level and
being handled by Corporation Counsel.

Motion was made by Rosalie Punkunus, seconded by Donna Moore to adjourn the
meeting at 7:30pm, passed unanimously.
