5. NEW BUSINESS:
Silver Lake: An interest has been issued for the land parcel.
Bicentennial Park parking time constraint: The commission addressed
concerns of the neighbors in the area of the park. Chairman DeLorenzo stated
he would check on the proposal for the parking lot.
Commission Brochures: Chairman DeLorenzo reported that ordering
1000 brochures would cost about $204 and an additional $104 for 800 #10
envelopes. The plan is to send out about 800 of the brochures to people around
town. The commission would also like to update them every few years and
distribute them to new property owners in town.
Vice Chairman Hoffman motioned to accept this plan. Commissioner
Lewis seconded and the motion was unanimously approved.
6. OLD BUSINESS:
A. Use of Town Lands:
Hatchery Brook Community Garden – Commissioner Lewis stated
that he has some reservations about putting the sign on the fence, to which
Vice Chairman Hoffman agreed. Several members stated that the sign
should include the commission’s logo. Mr. Lotko suggested that a symbol to
represent the hiking trails and community garden be added to each sign.
The commission agreed that they want to keep the new sign the same size
as the ones it will be around so that it does not appear overwhelming. They
also agreed that the wording on the sign be condensed to just “Community
Gardens and Hiking Trails”.
