Chief 8ajorski and seconded by Asst. Chief Cop. OId Business: Budqet: The budget for the 2013/2014 Fisca( Year was discussed and agreed upon (please see attached Spreadsheet for breakdown of the requested amounts for each account). The following accounts are going to be either increased or decreased for the starting 8udget for 2013/2014 along with the reasons. The other accounts will remain the same (as shown on the attached Spreadsheet): • Physicals - 7/1/13-6/30/14 ( • Computer Support - Increase by $6,000 (Data to be updated on computers on each Truck/Engine/Ladder). Look into getting Outlook Pro for computers, which will update with new streets, there wili also be a GPS, and a plot will be given for each hydrant. These updates would be made on an annual or semiannual basis. • Training - Increase by $8,000 (this would give each department an additianal $2,000 for training classes such as Firefighter I and Firefighter II) • Mileage - Increase by $2,000 (this wauld altow students who are driving to and from Fire School to track their Mileage. The Departments will also look into getting staff cars so`that the Mileage Reimbursement will drop back down to $1,OOd). • Protective Clothing-There wiN be an additional $60,0~ in Capitol Funds (Set = lacket/Pants) • Haz-Mat - Decrease by $1,000 and start a new Account for Recruitment (Acct# 53926) . Equipment Testing - increase by $S,OQO (Gear testing which needs to be done every 5 years, is $50/set). • Firehose, Nozzles - decrease b~ $2,000 (Each department will now have $1,SOQJeach, and each department needs to have the same Nozzies). • Fire Equipment- Decrease by $3,000 (Each department will now have $3,000) • Rescue Equipment - Decrease by $4,000 (~ach department will now have $3,500J • Create 2 new accounts (1) Public Education - $1,000 (Account# 53440} (2) Recruitment - $1,000 (Account# 53926) !n regards to the Operating Expense Account,lae Bajorski stated that the Kensington Volunteer Fire Department is going to be nearing forecfosure. Asst Chief Bajorski also stated that he does not want to have to document each item that is going to be submitted for reimbursement. Asst Chief Bajorski believes that there is no need to itemize their expense sheet in order to be reimbursed every quarter. Berlin Fire Department, East Berlin Fire Department and Kensingtan Fire Department will start submitting their Quarterly expenses for the Operating Expense Reimbursement so that they can receive paymentfrom the Town. There wil~ be a breakdown requested from Finance that will state which items are eligible for the expense reimbursement form, so that there will not be any questions as to what should or should not be included on this expense form.
