Call to Order & Roll Call - 6:37 p.m. -Members Present: Kathleen Anderson, Parr~E~Do'riAroma;7ames

Approval of Minutes -Suspended until November 8, 2007
Old Business -
A. Status of Work -State Accessibility Guide- Will be getting an up-date for next month.
Commissioners also hope to have an update about the Timberland grant.
B. Town Opportunities for Students with Disabilities -Committee revisited the opportunity for the
front desk~ob. Commissioner Anderson contacted Casey Downes twice. She has yet to hear
anything back.
C. Wethersfield Disability Guide- Discussion was had regarding the revisions made to the disability
guide. Members will continue gathering information and send updates to Commissioner
Anderson who will incorporate them into one document. The next meeting will be utilized
e~:clusively to update the document and discuss the content.
New Business -
A. House Bill 6370 -Commissioners discussed House Bill 6370 "An Act Concerning the Illegal use
of Handicapped Parking Spaces". Commissioner DonAroma felt that many people have parking
permits that shouldn't and others agreed. Commissioner Anderson stated that she hoped renewing the
permit for those that needed to would be easy and not burdensome.
Commissioner Communication -
• Public Act 06-129 - AN ACT CONCERNING THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE DISABLED
AND DISADVANTEAGED EMPLOYMENT SECURITY POLICY GROUP
Commissioner DonAroma reported that the pilot consisted of 9 openings for individuals to work at the
Department of Transportation at a pay rate of $14.00+ an hour. They will have a competitive package
that is comparable to people without disabilities. They will belong to a union. Senator DeFronzo was
instrumental in having this pilot implemented.
