The meeting was called to order at 7: i D PM by Chairman Mark Wnuk.
MINUTES
A motion was made by S, Folcik and was seconded by M. Lewandowski to approve the
Minutes as printed. Motion passed unanimously.
VOICE OF THE PUBLIC - None
OLD BUSINESS
BUDGET -The Finance Director will meet with the Four Chiefs to discuss the
way bills are presently being paid. On 8-26-04 the Chiefs will meet with the Town
Manager at 5 PM to discuss some important issues. The Chiefs will meet with the
Finance Director the same day at 6 PM.
PUMP TESTING
Chief Simons reported that the testing of all fire pumps will start on 8-19-04.
Testing will be done at the Stan Chem facility near the river.
RADIOS
Radios and other communication equipment will go out to bid A.S.A.P.
RADIO PROGRA.~~IlVIING
Chief F. Folcik said that he would like to work on radios programming (He
expects to receive training from the Vendor . )
TRAINING
Command Fire School will start in November. The dates are to be announced.
SCHOOL PORTABLE CLASSROOMS
Chief Simons reported that the portable classrooms at McGee School will be
demolished on &24-04 and the Fire Departments can use them for training before they
are demolished. Berlin Fire Department will train there on 8-18-04 and 8-19-04. The
other three departments will train there also before they are demolished.
FIRE POLICE
A discussion was held on the S.O.P, for Fire Police. Any problems that have
occurred were hopefully resolved.
HAZ-MAT
It was agreed to continue with the Haz-Mat training .
ACCOiJNTABILITY
Chief Lewandowski reported that all departments will be on-line with the new
system A.S.A.P.
NEW BUSINESS
Chief Lewandowski will order the new vests as was agreed to at the meeting by
all Chiefs.
911 PROGRAM
Chief Lewandowski reported that there will be a 911 Program at the Kensington
Fire Department grounds. It will be the same as last year but hopefully better on
Saturday.
CORRESPONDENCE
Chief Simons read a letter from Chester Haber on the condition of the Pole on the
corner of Ledge Road and Savage Hill which is used for a Radio Repeator Station. Chet
Haber talked to Chief Simons on this issue before he checked the condition of the Pole.
No action was taken at this meeting but Chief Simons will track down who has the key to
the repeator box to check the inside of it.
Motion was made by Mark Lewandowski and was seconded by Stan Folcik to adjourn
the meeting .The motion passed.
The meeting adjourned at 9 : OS PM.
